Long Island Youth Summit 2024 scheduled
Dr. Rogers is a co-chair of the 2024 Long Island Youth Summit. It will be the 15th annual Long Island Youth Summit.
The Long Island Youth Summit is a year-round educational program that is a partnership between Vision Long Island, St. Joseph’s College, Northwell Health, National Grid and other public and private organizations. The first Long Island Youth Summit took place in 2009 in Oakdale, NY.
The purpose of the Summit is to engage young people in thinking about and solving the problems related to local and regional social, economic, and environmental issues. Students submit projects on these issues, either research papers, artwork or multimedia.
These projects are judged, and the authors and creators of qualifying projects are invited to a day-long Youth Summit at St. Joseph’s University’s Patchogue Campus. This year’s Youth Summit is scheduled on Friday April 12, 2024.
The Summit aims at developing research, creative, and social skills of high school students by allowing them to work collaboratively with leaders in business, government, and non-profit sectors.
